We hope the following questions are some of the same ones you have, because if so, the answers follow directly below. For those questions not addressed here, please contact us at info@kwagalafoundation.com
How can I donate?
So glad you asked! Monetary donations, paid for by cheque, can be mailed to us. We also accept cash. We are currently pursuing other options, in order to provide a secure way for interested donors to use their credit cards via online payments.
Please note that due to a government formality, we are unable to offer tax-deductible receipts at this time. Cheques can be made out to "Kwagala Foundation". Our mailing address is not published on our website, but can be accessed by emailing us at the above address.
Are you a registered charity?
Kwagala Foundation, while entirely legal, does not yet have a registered charity number. This is due to Canada Charities and does not reflect our professionalism nor our commitment. Our lawyer, accountant and many supporters are all trying to help us attain this title as we recognize the trust associated with it.
Where does your money come from? And where does it go?
Kwagala Foundation is very proud of its transparent monetary transactions - since day one we have consistently used over 99% of donations to directly support on-the-ground operations. What does this mean? It means none of us are doing this for money, and so when we say your money is making a difference, we mean it! All of our operating income comes from (semi)-annual benefit shows and donations from our friends, families and supporters. Maintaining our "grassroots" approach means we consistently have a small operating budget, though are able to provide where it really matters- in rural Uganda.
Do you offer volunteer placements?
While we have had volunteers in the past, we are unable to offer on-the-ground volunteer placements at this time. When we are able, we will be publishing information on our website regarding the process.
Where can I learn more about Kwagala Foundation?
Kwagala Foundation makes a point of being present throughout Winnipeg - at various fundraisers, community events, craft sales and even through offering motivational talks to high schools. If your school or event is interested in having Kwagala Foundation a part of it, please be in touch. Further, for any other ideas or questions regarding our involvement or unanswered questions, simply email us.
What is the bottom line?
